Trust us … there is A LOT to do in and around Naples Motorcoach Resort. We could go on and on, but we decided to just give you a few vacation ideas this time around. Here is a sample five-day itinerary of some of our favorite “to dos.”
Day one: Fun, Sun and Relaxation
Florida, it’s the Sunshine State. So get out and enjoy it. Today, we’re grabbing the beach umbrella, sunscreen and suiting up for the beach.
Head out to Naples Beach and Pier for a relaxing day and amazing amazing photo ops. Parking at the beach is usually quite easy and available close to the beach access areas along Gulfshore Boulevard–between Central Avenue and the Naples Pier. Don’t forget quarters, it is metered parking.
As the sun begins to set on your beach day, we recommend heading out to the Naples Pier to fully appreciate the beautiful surroundings. If you’re looking to leave the beach a little earlier, take a short drive to Naples Beach Hotel for their Free Concerts on the Gulf. The evening concerts series features some of the finest contemporary Jazz, Blues and R&B performers. Parking is available at Lowdermilk Park, with complimentary trolley service to and from the hotel. If you arrive early enough, you can dine at HB’s On the Gulf, Naples’ only beachfront restaurant and six-time winner of Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence. Enjoy a cocktail and a beautiful Florida sunset at one of our relaxing Gulf-front bars.
Day two: All About the Arts and History
For all you art lovers, don’t miss out on the incredible art and historical sites in and around Naples. We recommend grabbing and coffee and starting your day at the Naples Botanical Gardens. Enjoy tropical gardens with their beautifully restored natural habitats.
Next, it’s time for the Naples Museum of Art. The museum is a unique reflection of the spirit of Southwest Florida. The museum’s visual arts center includes a three-story, 30,000-square-foot museum with 15 galleries, a glass-dome conservatory, entrance agtes by renowned metal artist Albert Paley, chandeliers and a Persian Ceiling by accliamed glass artist Dale Chihuly.
Tonight, head back to Naples Motorcoach Resort and enjoy one of our regular resort-hosted activities. While it changes each day, you could enjoy game nights, cocktail hours, or even a dance party.
Day Three: Family Fun
Depending on children’s ages, there are a variety of options. For the little ones, we would recommend heading out to the Golisano Interactive Children’s Museum of Naples (CMON). The museum “celebrates the natural curiousity of children…[and] encourages exploration and discovery.” This two-story, 30,000-square-foot cultural institution includes ten permanent and temporary exhibits and more.
Animal lovers in the family? Maybe the zoo is more your style. Southwest Florida’s only accredited zoo, Naples Zoo brings guests “wildly close” to big cats,” features awesome animal shows like Fang & Fiction and offers and guided boat tour that cruises past monkeys, lemurs and apes. Fans of the animated film series Madagascar, we are proud to be the out zoo in the southeast to house fosas, rare Madagascar predators.
After this fun-filled day, everyone will surely be tuckered out. Enjoy a movie back at the resort in our 16-seat home theater and get ready for another adventurous day.
Day Four – Outdoor Adventure
Better get a good breakfast today, you’ve got an action packed day of outdoor adventures.
We’re giving you options today! Head out to the incredible Key West or stay local and experience a little more of what Naples has to offer.
Key West Express: If you’re looking to hit up Key West during your stay, this is your chance! This express catamaran sets sail to the playground of presidents, poets, pirates and partygoers. From Marco Island to Key West, it’s approximately 3.5 hours non stop. Don’t worry, during the trip you can stay in their climate-controlled cabins or take in the sunshine and soft breezes of the Gulf of Mexico on the deck. Once you’re docked, stroll from the ferry terminal along the Harbor Walk to the famous Duval Street in just 15 minutes!
If you’re looking for a little more of a local experience, we like Cruise Naples and the Naples Kayak Company. Do one or both, depending on what level of activity you’re interested in and how much time you have to explore. Cruise along the Gordon River, keeping eyes peeled for dolphin sightings, and enjoy the luxurious real estate along the shores. In addition to dolphins, you might be able to catch sight of manatees, bald eagles, shore birds and more. Cruise Naples also offers sunset cruises (special discounts for our guests!), scavenger hunt cruises perfect for families, and wine and dine cruises.
Guided tours with the Naples Kayak Company include locations like The Everglades, Naples and Marco Island and The 10,000 Islands. All of their guides are Florida Master Naturalists and ACA Certified Instructors. They provide half-day, full-day or multi-day tours!
There is no way you aren’t just starving by the end of this adventure filled day. If you have the chance, we recommend heading back out to the beaches for a beautiful sunset dinner and maybe a sweet treat to reward all that paddling (even if you didn’t paddle, we recommend a sweet treat!). The Village on Venetian Bay houses the “M” Waterfront Grille or Miramare Restaurant. It is also the location of Naples’ only Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Shop!
Day 5: Shop til you Drop!
Since we’re talking shop(ping) today, we must include Fifth Avenue South. Perhaps the most well-known shopping district in Naples, it boasts a beautifully landscaped promenade, gift shops, art galleries, jewelry stores and unique boutiques. If you’re looking for an upscale experience, head to the Waterside Shops. This is the place to find designer threads, couture fashion lines and luxury goods.
Home to elegant boutique shops, wedding dress boutigues and jewelry sores, Third Street South is located in Old Naples and is just a short drive to the beach. They offer a Street Concierge to help you find whatever you need during your outing. As you window shop or actually shop, take a moment to admire the Old Florida architecture around the district.
Now, if you’re looking for a half-pound cookie (oh yes, half a pound!) or something truly unique to the Naples area, we recommend stopping off at Tin City. This “kitschy” destination is located just next to Fifth Avenue South. Once a oyster-processing plant, the tin roof shacks now house souvenir shops, sea-themed gift shops, waterfront restaurants and gourmet food shops. And yes, there is the half-pound, freshly baked cookie from Serious Cookie Co.–in case you were interested.
Well, that does it! Five days of amazing fun, adventure and relaxation in and around Naples Motorcoach Resort. If you’re looking for more or different activities, our friendly staff is here to help! We’re experts in our area and have great ideas to fit any type of vacation!
